History

A tradition of trust in
the Peace Region

Heritage Roofing was born in 2002 from a desire to reclaim quality work and reliable service. Inspired by traditional work ethics and methods, and a passion for workplace safety, owners Dan Truax and Melanie Moore aim to provide the best service to every single customer while setting a new standard for safety and quality results. It’s a principle that drives the company forward today.

Dan had already devoted nearly 14 years to the roofing industry when they started the company. That expertise helped Heritage Roofing grow quickly, but they never wavered from that original commitment to always put the customer first. We were built around traditional values, which is why we believe in always lending a helping hand for our local organizations. This means we play our part in supporting charities and sponsoring events.

We also understand exactly how vital it is to support other local businesses. All our equipment is purchased, when possible, from local companies.

We couldn’t have made it this far without local support from our customers, so it’s only fitting to give back to the community that supports us.

At Heritage Roofing, we’re always preparing for the worst – so that you get nothing but the best.

Safety

Safety First, Last, and Always

Working on the exterior of a building is a potentially dangerous job, which is why Heritage Roofing always makes safety a top priority.

All our employees are fully certified with fall protection and first aid. We also ensure each worker is properly and regularly trained and retrained for each piece of equipment, including our aerial lifts, man lifts, and zoom booms.

We encourage open conversation from all our staff and if a job feels unsafe to our workers, we listen. We’ll take the appropriate actions and make sure that our employees not only are safe but also feel safe.

Heritage Roofing also has a dedicated National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) on staff who completes daily site checks, ensuring all jobs are both safe and secure. We’re certified with the Alberta Construction Safety Association (COR certified), but we don’t stop there. We exceed the necessary government safety standards, giving our employees the most modern and advanced equipment, alongside the lowest-risk working environment possible.

Shingle Recycling Offers A Better Way

Did you know more than a million tonnes of asphalt-based roofing materials end up in the Canadian landfills every year? This isn’t just a waste of landfill space, it also wastes precious resources that can be used in fixing pavement and roads, as well as on farms to eliminate muddy areas.

At Heritage Roofing, we do everything possible to make sure your old roofing materials are diverted away from the landfill and recycled. This helps save energy, lower building costs, create jobs and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
